On Thomas of Aquinas’ hymn ‘Pange, lingua’ (‘Sing, my tongue’), that in the Protestant hymnals morphed into Psalm 39.
This is a sister piece to I – Super ‘Victimae’ as well as to IV – Super ‘Spiritus’, quite simply because it re-uses some of their melodies, but in a setting that is at once more jubilant as well as more ominous.
